Remembering Our Ancestors: A Candle Creation Nature Ceremony

Honor your lineage through sensory expression, embodiment and connection to the natural world.

A powerful collaboration by Julie // Earth Body Presence, Gabriella // Death Doula and Leslie // The Candle Creation Bar

Join us on a ceremonial journey to connect with your ancestors.  Feel the tendrils of the past reaching into the heart of your present experience.  This ceremony will meet you where you are whether there is a specific loved one you are choosing to honor, or you want to feel a deeper attunement with ancestors of long ago.

Our ceremony begins in an imagined forest as we remember our relationship with the natural world.  Your ancestor’s lives were interwoven with plants, trees, water, and sky; with wind and rain.  We’ll bring elements of nature inside so you can make meaningful contact with the Earth while remaining cozy in the shelter of The Candle Creation Bar.

Allow your body to unfold with somatic movement and song. Explore scents that evoke memory and joy. Collect these scents to create a plant infused soy candle (8 ounce) that becomes a portal to your ancestors every time you light it. We will journal to remember and invite partnered shares.

Together we’ll enjoy tea from native Pacific Northwest plants that Julie sustainably harvests, and delicious snacks to sustain us.  While sipping tea created from the forest, you’ll have time to reflect on our ceremony and the abundance that you’ve received.  During this time of reflections you can journal, draw, or sit quietly and take in the experience.  This time of reflection will be a sacred pause to allow the ceremonial journey to digest and integrate into your system.
